Please join us on December 11th for the presentation "Cross-Border Patent Litigation after BSH v. Electrolux: will the European jurisdictional war reach the U.S.?". This presentation, given by Marc Lauzeral, partner at Schertenleib, UPC representative and Avocat au Barreau de Paris, will address the BSH v. Electrolux decision from the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), ruling that a patent holder can bring an infringement action in the courts of the EU member state where the accused infringer is domiciled, regardless of where the alleged infringement occurred. This decision allows patent holders to consolidate infringement suits in a simple EU jurisdiction and has significant implications for cross-border patent disputes. One example is the U.S. based Onesta IP LLC recently filed an infringement case asserting U.S. patents against BMW in Munich I Regional Court.
Attendees will have the opportunity to earn 1.0 NY/NJ CLE Credit.
