Judge Goldberg was appointed as a United States District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on October 31, 2008. Prior to his appointment, Judge Goldberg began his legal career in the trial and appellate divisions of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. In 1990, he joined the firm of Cozen O’Connor, where his practice initially focused on commercial litigation, and he eventually became manager of the firm’s Arson and Fraud Unit. In 1997, Judge Goldberg became an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he focused on white collar crime cases. Judge Goldberg began his judicial career in February 2003 with an appointment to the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas, and was elected to a ten-year term on that Court in November 2003. Judge Goldberg’s remarks will be directed to the antitrust issues that arise in patent cases involving pharmaceutical companies and “reverse payments” licensing. |
