What’s Data Got To Do With It: Patents, Trade Secrets, Copyrights . . . and Privacy? Why NYIPLA Members Should Care About Privacy and Cybersecurity Laws and Issues That May Arise In Your Practices.

NYIPLA members are invited to this webinar to learn about some key issues IP practitioners should consider related to data ownership, privacy and cybersecurity and how those issues overlap with the core IP matters in typical NYIPLA members’ practices. Among other things, the panel will cover: who can own what types of data and under which IP regimes can that data be protected; who can be named as an inventor or author; what are the IP implications for the collection and sale of certain types of data, including scraping and imaging technologies and platforms; and what you need to know about emerging privacy concerns in connection with open court proceedings.
