Awards

NYIPLA takes great pride in giving back to its members and the IP community at large through several award programs that have been established.  In recent years, it’s become a tradition to present the Outstanding Public Service Award at the Annual Dinner in Honor of the Federal Judiciary.

Each year at the Annual Meeting of Members, NYIPLA presents the Inventor of the Year Award to pay tribute to an individual or group of individuals, who through their inventive talents, have made worthwhile contributions to society by promoting “the progress of Science and useful Arts”.

Besides honoring those who have spent entire careers in the field of IP, NYIPLA created a writing competition for law students and appropriately named it The William C. Conner Intellectual Property Law Writing Competition, after the Honorable William C. Conner, who was a former president of the NYIPLA.

Over the years, several other awards have been presented.
