The program will include the presentation of a new and abridged version of: “The Famous Case of National Kink Safety Pin Co. vs. International Bump Co. et al.” or “How Many Angels Can Dance on the Head of a Pin?”   In its original form, the play was written by Lawrence Langner and presented by the New York Patent Law Association at the Third Annual Dinner in Honor of the Federal Judiciary at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in 1924. Pupillage Group # 1 has streamlined the play for its presentation as one of the events celebrating the 225th anniversary of the establishment of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The program will also include a presentation and discussion by a panel of experts covering the highlights of a historical cross-section of prominent intellectual property cases litigated over the last 225 years before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The SDNY has been at the forefront of this nation's intellectual property jurisprudence since its inception. Our panel will discuss some of the highlights from the Court in the areas of copyrights, trademarks, and patents, and how those cases remain relevant today.

Reception (6:30 pm to 7:30 pm)
